Your favorite comics
« on: December 29, 2006, 08:39:48 AM »
The Fox Trot thread got me to thinking... I read a few (or more) webcomics each day.  Which are your favorites to read?

Mine are:

Questionable Content

Devil's Panties (there are no demon undies involved!)

and

Ozy and Millie

Pearls Before Swine and Get Fuzzy.  The two best comic strips ever!

I stick to regular comics.

My favorite comic strip was always Peanuts, but I also like Beetle Bailey and For Better or For Worse.
I'm away from sanity right now...please leave a message after the beep.

Sluggy! But I think I need to reread the last year; I'm about three months behind and hopelessly lost!

My fiance and I love FoxTrot!  I also read Peanuts, Garfield, Blondie, Cathy, Zits, Dennis the Menace, Bizarro, Cathy, Rose Is Rose, Baby Blues, For Better or For Worse, and maybe a few others.

The comics are my favorite part of the newspaper.

Don't get me started on all the manga I collect!   ;D

Irregular Webcomic is my absolute favorite and my home page.  I like the way his jokes rely on an extenive knowledge of laungauge, mathematics, and physics... and he explains it so that you not only get the joke, but you learn something

Ozy and Millie a close second, and I also enjoy his other comic, I Drew This

I also like Dinosaur Comics at qwantz.com, and I talk about them with my Dad

I read Sluggy Freelance because this boy I really like loves the comic
I read Sam and Fuzzy whenever my brother is into it (it goes in phases)
I read the Devil's Panties because my dad does.

I'll have to look at some of these other comics you guys are mentioning.  A few more updates a day might be cool

I miss the good days, when "Calvin and Hobbes" and "The Far Side" were still published.

I'll just stick w/ web comics, and try to skip those already mentioned:

http://www.choppingblock.org  -the updates have been painfully lacking recently.  This comic stays within a foot of that fine line between "funny" and "to far over the line of good taste" (please note I didn't say it always stays on the "right" side of that line...just that it stays close to it)

http://www.schlockmercenary.com -sci-fi humor

http://www.reallifecomics.com -traditional comic w/ nerdy humor.

http://www.wapsisquare.com -soap-opera w/ magic and the occasional anthropology museum joke...who could ask for more?

http://www.megatokyo.com -more like an online manga than a traditional comic.  And the home of "the father of a l33t jokes"

http://www.daniellecorsetto.com/gws.html -I"m new to this one, but liking it

http://tsoalr.com/-turn-signals on a land raider--if you're not into tabletop gaming, chances are you won't be very amused.  If you ARE into warhammer, you'll be very amused.

http://www.penny-arcade.com/ - often crude, usually gamer related

His strip today made me kind of sad.  I hope he does something else soon to follow!

Lately?  That's been par for the course for Chopping Block for a very long time.  I stopped reading it a while ago, when there were months at a time between updates.

Wow...I've never heard of some of these comics.

My picks (when I get a chance to see a paper--we have online subscriptions and they don't include comics, darn it.) are Arlo and Janice http://www.unitedmedia.com/comics/arlonjanis/, Non Sequitur http://www.gocomics.com/nonsequitur/, and (for some bizarre reason) Monty http://www.comics.com/comics/monty/index.html.  Go figure.
