Shoo:
Last night our next door neighbor came over to tell us that her car was stolen out of her driveway that morning.  It was a very cold morning, and she started her car to let it warm up.  She was actually outside waiting, but ran into the house for a few seconds to grab something.  When she did, someone jumped into her car and drove off with it!

Apparently, whoever stole it was watching and waiting.  It only took a few seconds and it was gone.

When I think of how many times I have done this (the car warming up thing, not the car stealing thing!) it makes me cringe.  Never again.

Suze:
the only time that I do the car warm up thing is if there is a boatload of ice on the windows (I'm lazy, eaiser to let it melt off)

But I usually lock the car with the second set of keys

Alida:
That's why we have 2 sets of keys.  We lock our car when we do that, just to be safe.

CocoCamm:
Automatic starter baby!! I can stay in my nice warm house and just hit a button and the car starts. By the time I'm ready to go the car is warmed up. Not only convienant, but no need to keep the doors unlocked. My automatic starter actually has a "valet" feature so if I'm running in a store real quick I can just hit a button and remove my keys from the ignition and lock the doors all while the car stays running. For about $100 an automatic starter is more then a worthwhile investment.

That's the only time I do it too...although I'm usually out there scraping at the same time.
