Happy new year!!!
« on: December 29, 2006, 02:29:37 PM »
And, like, I really mean it...and stuff.

Etiquette Angel help us all in fair City - they've moved the football game to 4:15pm, which should just add about another 40,000 drunks to the foolishness at the Harbor.

Which is why I'm staying home and petting the cats.

Oooooooh - the jealousy you all now feel towards my life as a wild single girl in the moderately-sized fair City is palpable!! ::)

May all your years be better than the last!

Feliz Ano Nuevo (I wish this thing had accent marks in it).

I will be at the corner bar at midnight EST, and recording the New Year's show I usually watch.

Happy New Year, everybody!!!!

I spent the last few hours either sleeping or reading - I finally had to get up, as the kitties were hogging the bed and refused to move over.

But I won my first Solitaire game of 2007, so the year has started off right. ;D

Happy New Year everyone!

I woke up this morning to the sound of trumpets! In my village here in Scotland, every year dedicated members of the local silver band get out of their beds on New Year's Day and march around the streets waking everyone up with their music. I love it! (granted, I don't have a hangover  ;)) Our part of the village heard the music around 8.30 am and I hung out of my window to take a pic just to show you all.

Usually there are only a few members playing (like four or six at the most), but this year there was quite a turnout - practically the whole shebang from the looks of things! Could this be due to the fact that the weather was absolutely awful last night, (howling a gale - they even cancelled the Hogmanay street party in Edinburgh), and that no one could go out to get totally drunk on New Year's Eve?

We saw the New Year in, in front of the TV watching a truly amazing fireworks display broadcast from the London Eye.

Hope you all have a wonderful 2007!

(ETA: Forgot to mention added incentive for band playing is that there are various stops along the route where they are given whisky to "heat up" and keep going. If they haven't been drunk on New Year's Eve, they usually are by the end of New Year's Day!)

nothing like an parade.

We have a little town around here that has a St Patrick's day parade that started of when 3 guy were driving their riding lawn mowers from one side of town to the other (about 4 blocks, told you it was little)

My party plans fell through - Everybody I knew was sick - party just faded away this year.

Spent it with my furbaby and a book (she will let me use her for a book prop, however, it does get a little hard to read when the book starts vibrating)

Happy New Year - and May All Your Dreams Come True.

Had a lovely New Year's celebration last night. Friends of ours always hold a big party and there's always a jam session in one room. Last night's jam was amazing. When my brother and I couldn't handle anymore party at four in the morning, the hostess drove us home so my beloved wouldn't have to stop playing. He tells me he didn't get home until about seven this morning. Now it's four-thirty in the afternoon, and we just got back from breakfast.

Oh, and no hangovers, because none of us are drinkers. And dinner is already figured out because we're going back for leftovers in a couple hours.

So, 2007 is off to a decent start in WenchWorld.

May all of you have a happy, healthy, polite and prosperous '07!

And happy New Year to everyone! I tried to post last night, but I was on wi-fi at the hotel where Chip and I celebrated the coming of 2007, and everything froze up on me. (Other than that, it was a great evening. I was able to take a swim in the indoor pool, we had a chilled bottle of sparkling apple cider and chocolate-dipped strawberries waiting in our room and looking out over the city from that angle was awesome! The weather interfered with the fireworks displays, though. It was a monsoon.)

Pastor asked me yesterday morning, "Are you ready for the new year?" and I said, "More than ready!" After all I went through health-wise this past summer … yikes!

A new year is a new chance, so everybody take your fences boldly!  ;D
