It's funny because it's true!

Today we are all at my in-laws. Our Nephew says, "I can't sit down!" in complaint to him not being able to sit on the chair his sister is (already) sitting in.

BIL says, "Yeah!?, Well I can't stand up!"

I have a blind friend who has a great sense of humor.

I tend to make really corny puns (when talking about how something weighed a few tons, I said, "Do understand the weight of that statement?") followed by, "Do you see what I did there?" (which makes my corny puns even worse, but hey, it makes me laugh).

Blind Friend made a pun by accident, then said, "You see what I did there? 'Cause I didn't." (The pun wasn't intended, which made his statement even funnier.)  I laughed forever that day.

Here's a slightly different sort of 'funny because it's true' situation.

Back in the 1960s a July matinee at the Tappan Zee Playhouse had to be stopped and the theater cleared when a fire broke out in the air conditioning system.

The play was 'Summer and Smoke'.

I know this is true because I was in the audience.
