But Beiber had no way of knowing whether or not the HC would be thrilled to have him there or not. My sister specifically requested Queen's "Fat Bottom Girls" and Sir Mix a Lot's "Baby Got Back" at her wedding. I'm not so sure she would have wanted the remaining members of Queen or Mr. Lot to come crashing in her wedding. Heck, if Zombie Freddie Mercury came waltzing it, I'm sure she would have been a less than thrilled.
would it absolutely have killed them to have the spotlight taken off them for 10 minutes. I'm sure some of their guests loved it.
So, meh. They were playing his song, he only stayed 10 minutes.
Killed them? No. But I would be upset.
Would it kill Justin Beiber to stay out of the spotlight when he's not directly invited into it?
I'm sure some of the guests loved it - which means that, even after Beiber left, it could still have been a big focal point, when the focal point should really be the HC.
Maybe we just view weddings differently or just have different experiences. For me, if he'd interrupted the ceremony it would be completely inexcusable because that really IS all about the HC and nobody else at all in the whole world. The reception is a celebration of the marriage and more inclusive of family and friends, to me. Also, if this had happened to me I know
the talk afterwards would have been "Wow, what a treat on your
wedding day. We're so excited for you two
that you'll have a great story to tell!" rather than "Woohoo! Justin Beiber!"
Then again, my criteria for how much I like anything - up to and including hurting myself - is how good a story it will make so maybe it's just my own unique viewpoint.
