I debated whether to mention this web site for the Feel Good Friday post. First, directing one’s web site readers AWAY from one’s own site to spend time on another is really stupid. Let’s face it, Ehell exists in no small part to people seeing and clicking on advertising which pays the bills. Yeah, really not a smart move to send people elsewhere.
And the site has its share of vulgarity and loads of double entendres which are sure to offend someone.
But I spent a good hour reading this other site and guffawing laughing like I haven’t done in ages. Tears streaming down my face, belly hurting, smile muscles aching. I wondered how anyone viewing this while at work was going to stifle the laughs. While the actual errors and double entendres are mildly amusing, it is the reactions of those people accidentally victimized by their own electronic devices that are hilarious. I’m calling it “texting slapstick”.
So, here it is: Damn You, Auto Correct. Laugh a bunch and then come back to Ehell!

This posting proves that EHell is about manners but knows humor can be slightly o.O sometimes. I love EHell and DYAC is just hilarious!
Yes! I love this site. And I have one of those that I need to submit to them. LOL.
I LOVR DYAC! it makes me laugh so much. I have given myself the hiccups laughing at the site 3 times. Its part of my daily internet routine, E-mail, E-hell, Facebook, Ravelry, DYAC. Also SmartPhowned is similar, but not as funny. OMG facts is a good read and so its Gives Me Hope, Love gives me hope and Kids Give Me Hope too. all part of the Spartz network.
Damn You, Auto Correct is very funny and so are the other sites at the bottom of the page! Why Did You Buy Me That had me laughing until the tears flowed. Thanks for the laughs!
I started wheezing and attracted attention.
By the time we were done, there were three of us standing around my computer getting NO work done, just wheezing and crying. We stopped when we couldn’t get our 72 year old boss to understand why it was funny.
We’ll go back later and finish.
Thank you!!
This is a site I visit regularly…actually, it’s right beside Ehell on my iGoogle page. It’s part of my daily routine to go there and laugh myself silly for a while. :o) Thanks!
Love it!
Meh, I usually have to leave the site anyway for the videos because my browser has an issue with embedded YouTube videos. (The only reason I hadn’t updated it is that there’s a plugin I need for my work that wasn’t compatible with newer versions.) It doesn’t keep me away. 🙂
My coworker directed me to this site and I actually have to submit one that happened to DH last week. He has a Droid at work and one of his subordinates texted him to let him know that he would be out sick. My DH MEANT to text back, “OK no problem”, didn’t check his autocorrect and hit send before he realized that the text he actually sent was “OK MORON”.
Oh god I LOVE that website. LOVE it. I thankfully have never had that issue, my phone’s auto correct always seems to suggest every possible alternative to rude words before the actual rude word comes up. I don’t use the rude words often, but I got bored and decided to play with the auto correct one day just to see what happened. Rude words have never unintentionally gone to anyone. The only time I DO have an issue with auto correct is when I am texting friends about a particular video game I play and it auto corrects in game words to real world things, lol.
Good choice, I say. And, if the language offends anyone, they can’t say you didn’t warn us!
Somebody directed me to dyac.com last week when I desperately needed a laugh and I laughed so hard I had tears running down my face. Second time through reading them I had the same reaction. Too funny!
damnyouautocorrect is one of those sites I check every day. When I first ran across it, I spent a good part of one weekend reading every.post.on.the.site and laughing until I felt like throwing up. Good times!
Love this site Sooooooo much, thank you for posting it. I had heard of the site from a co-worker and had my doubts as to the general hilarity. But alas I too was wracked with side splitting uncontrolable laughs……perfect for a friday after noon.
When I went to the site, I clicked on worst gifts. Check it out!
I’m crying with laughter. My kids are both home because of another snow day, I’m sick and really need the nap, my husband is out of town and can’t help…this is JUST what I needed! 🙂 Thank you!
Oh, it’s the best. It’s a part of my daily routine. That and AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com And EHell, of course.
Reason #4968730984708957 that I’m glad that I still have a cheapazoid flip phone that I have to type out every letter on. Yes, my teenage baby-sitter gets impatient at how long it takes me to text her, but I never do anything like the things on this website.
I laughed so hard, I had tears streaming down my face. LOVE THIS!
Thank you E-Hell Dame! Had a rough week and this really made me feel so much better. Tears streaming out of my eyes, belly laughs, feels wonderful!
Hey, this one even has an etiquette angle! http://damnyouautocorrect.com/6289/what-not-to-say-after-grandmas-death/
As a medical transcriptionist, I can appreciate this. I always end up with things like genitourinary instead of guys.
DYAC cracks me up every single time!!! Sometimes I’m laughing fo hard, there are tears streaming down my face! Feel good Friday, indeed.
This site is one of about four that I read reliably every day, and I frequently cause myself internal pain trying not to guffaw loudly.
I read loyally at Ehell and DYAC and have for awhile! Don’t worry you won’t be losing any fans!
I was having a really bad day today. I needed a really good laugh! My favourite is the one where the girl broke her finger in the belt buckle. Not sure I should repeat what the auto correct changed it to though! Thanks, I never saw this site before, it’s favourited now!
Oh my goodness. That’s some funny stuff.
I love this website! It always delivers a good laugh :oD
I found this website awhile ago through the magic of Facebook. I refuse to return there until I have purchased a box of adult diapers. 😀
Seriously, I love DYAC. I have even put together a file of my favorite (clean) ones for my mom and sister’s enjoyment (they have a somewhat lower tolerance for double entendres than I do. My sister does, anyway >:-}
Thanks for the awesome recommendation! Fortunately, my auto-corrects aren’t this bad but from now on I’m going to say, “Bad apple!” when it does.
I’ve never had this happen to me. I went into the settings and turned the auto-correct off the minute I got my last two phones. I hate that feature =p Awesome site though, thanks for sharing it with us even if it may be a ‘rival’ for our attention. (Don’t worry Ehell, we’ll always love you more!)
that was blummin terriffic !!
“nobody puts baby in a cobweb” (one of the milder ones lol)
THE PHONE IS EVIL!
Because some of these aren’t even vaguely related autocorrects – clearly a malicious artifucuak intelligence MUST be behind these >:).
I vow to never, ever, ever read this at work.
I think I seriously hurt myself laughing when I first found this site. My ribs and my cheeks were sore for days from laughing and I think I actually disturbed my neighbors. Technology can be funnier than anything that we can come up with ourselves. Props for being open enough to pass on this website to anyone that hasn’t been on it before.
I adore DYAC! I think I might love it more now that I have a smart phone that thinks it’s far smarter than it actually is — the autocorrects it has provided on a few occasions deserved to be posted over there.
I love this one. Part of my “comedy” favorites folder! Also check out http://www.notalwaysright.com – half comedy, half poor etiquette! Also, http://www.failbooking.com
I had a DYAC moment the other day. I was typing in my e-mail address, which begins with “Ladycrim”. My phone tried to change it to “pastrami”. Unfortunately, it vanished before I could take a screenshot, but it’s nice to know my phone thinks I’m a piece of meat.
